Welcome to The Parents' Section

of the Briefing Room

Samurai Cop Self-Defense Academy, Costa Mesa, CaliforniaOn September 19, 2006 and September 21, 2006
the following was discussed with the parents and Academy Recruits who were present.

  1. A master list of all Recruits attending both the Advanced and Black Belt Academy courses has been forwarded to the Costa Mesa Parks and Recreation for the purposes of cross checking names of those who register in the future for these two classes. If the Recruit's name does not appear on the Master Roster, then they will not be permitted to register. All Trainee Recruits completing the Intermediate Course from this date on will be placed in the Saturday morning Advanced Course starting in January 2007. Please note that if you fail to register your son or daughter on time prior to any future classes starting, they will be bumped and lose their position in the class, which will result in placing them in one of the other classes.

  2. All Recruits must sign in on the training roster. Failure to do so will result in lack of required training hours for future promotions. It is the responsibility of the Recruit to sign in upon arriving at the Academy. They will be marked absent if they fail to sign in, even it is noted by the instructor that they were present.

  3. It is the responsibility of both parents and recruits to keep informed by watching the Academy bulletin board and the Academy web site for any updates, news, and or changes that may take place.

  4. Please take note of the pre-publication orders now being taken for the upcoming Academy Manual which will go on sale in February 2007. Additional information is available on this web site or at the Academy.

  5. Academy Raffle tickets will be handed out to Recruits to sell to immediate and/or extended family members. Proceeds of the Raffle tickets will go towards the Academy's new air conditioning and heating system. A flier containing information on the various prizes will be handed out to Recruits. The official drawing will be held at the Academy on Sunday, October 22, 2007 at 3 p.m. There will be refreshments on hand from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The first 30 Recruits selling 24 raffle tickets or more will receive a limited edition Messenger Bag with the school logo on it.

  6. The Academy notebooks are due to be turned in on or before October 3, 2006 for judging. There will be one boy and one girl Recruit from each class that will receive an award for the best organized and neatest Academy notebook. These awards will be presented at the annual holiday party at Benihanna's of Newport Beach on Saturday, December 2, 2006.
